The African Solidarity Fund (FSA) will make available to Gabonese employers a line of credit of CFAF 60 billion to guarantee loans obtained from banks by Gabonese SMEs and SMIs, members of the Gabonese Employers' Confederation (CPG).
On Friday October 8 in Libreville, a framework agreement was initialed for this purpose between the President of the CPG, Alain Bâ Oumar, and the Geeral Director of the FSA, Ahmadou Abdoulaye Diallo.
"The envelope covered by this agreement constitutes a guarantee to be placed at the level of banks and other financial institutions in Gabon, for the financing of Gabonese small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)," said Ahmadou Abdoulaye Diallo.
A real breath of fresh air for SMEs whose financing needs are often thwarted by the reluctance of banks to grant them loans to finance their activities.
This is particularly the case with CPG affiliates who, when they do manage to get loans, they are given at high rates.
"The financing made available by the FSA will be accessible at negotiable interest rates depending on the quality of the risk of the project. This agreement aims to partially guarantee, up to 50%, all the financing needs of SMEs in Gabon, ”assured Ahmadou Abdoulaye Diallo.
